DIRECTIONS TO NORTH METRO FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH,

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA

I-85 North (follow signs like you're going to Greenville, SC)

Exit 115 is about 20 miles or so from the I-285 interchange, just to give you an idea of the

distance.

Exit 115 - bear right toward Lawrenceville.

(This exit splits into two once you get off the interstate--one to Buford and one to Lawrenceville.

This is also the exit for the Mall of Georgia and is GA Hwy. 20 (aka Buford Drive)

At the fourth traffic light turn right onto Old Peachtree Road. There is a Publix Shopping

Center on the right, if you need a landmark. (FYI you will see an exit on I-85 for Old

Peachtree Road but don't get off there! You'll never find us!!!). The church will be one block

on your right. Go to the second entrance and follow the signs.

NMFBC is just down the hill on Old Peachtree on the right (down behind the Publix).

Go to our second entrance and follow signs to “Administrative Offices.” Park near the portico

(next to the building under construction) enter the double doors and the receptionist

Mary Ann Bradberry- Keynote Speaker- Worship Center

Mary Ann Bradberry – “Teaching the Brain-Friendly Way” – Seminar Room   

What's going on inside the minds of children in your classroom? This session will explore five myths of learning as facts about how the brain likes to learn are presented.

Dr. Marti Gibbs – Answering Your Questions – B207                               This will be a Q&A time to get your questions answered regarding immunization exemptions, when we should send a child home, and contagious viruses. 

Rebecca Tucker-Time to Teach Toddlers and Twos – A132                                        Learn techniques and activities to teach two-year-olds their colors, shapes and numbers. You will learn art activities, centers, songs, stories and finger plays that  teach toddlers and two years the standards the state of Georgia suggests two need to learn. The whole year plan will be at hand from themes, planning, red flags and  parent conferences.                            

Chris Skinner- Oh, what fun to be three!! A134                                      Come join an hour of laughs, songs and much more that will put your classroom above the rest.  You will take away ideas to enhance your sensory table, center   time and activity for the day.  The school year will be full of smiles as the        children are learning whiling having fun.

Kelly Childers- FOUR!   The Fabulous Fours A135                                  Give me an F! Give me an O!  Give me a U!  Give me an R !  What does that   spell?  Come and learn how to make your four year old preschoolers learn while they have fun, have fun while they work, and most importantly get what they need  without pen and paper to go to Kindergarten.  Learn ideas for activity boxes, name games and activities, ways to incorporate fine motor skills and 50 ways to teach the alphabet without using paper and pencil. 

Eileen Gilliam- Teaching Transition.  B308                                             When 5’s aren’t ready for kindergarten.  It is an exciting, hands on way to give the 5 year old time to mature and be prepared for kindergarten.

Karen Lillard – Creative Teaching on a Budget  A215                             Come and discover creative, fun and budget-friendly activities that you can do in your classroom to promote early reading, writing and math skills in preschoolers. This active participation workshop will inspire you to begin using your new ideas right away! 

Jillian Lewis- Great Games- A205                                                             Get inspired to play and have more fun with your kids!  Fun, indoor and outdoor fitness and Bible-based games for preschoolers.

Cathy Mercier – Celebration Throughout the Year – B305                            In this class we will discuss ways to celebrate the year by scheduling special days in your school or preschool classroom.  We will learn special songs, finger plays, how to create special centers, and discuss ways to involve the parents.

Kim Harris – Cooking with Kids – B302                                           Conferees will learn how cooking experiences in the classroom can be used to   teach basic skills and concepts with preschoolers.

DeDe Reilly- Fine Motor Skills in the Christian Preschool – B201                Fine Motor Skill Applications with Jesus outlines the sequence of fine motor      skills that can only be taught in the preschool setting incorporating each skill with a thought application of Christ.

Pat Leonard- A Bag of Tricks for the New Teacher – B307                         We will talk about planning units, center activities, circle time, organizing the       room and the day, and do some singing and dancing.

Cindi White- Nature: A Look at God’s Beautiful World.- B304                    Are the giant seashell, the rocks and the magnifying glass on your nature shelf     dusty? Have the leaves dried up and crumbled? We will discover ways to bring nature into the classroom so preschoolers will be excited to learn about God’s   beautiful world and the things He made for us to enjoy.

Sandee Fricks- Science Made Easy – B309                                          Science is for all ages!  Don't be afraid to bring it into your preschool classroom.  In this session you will learn how to plan a science lesson, where to find ideas, resources and equipment.  We'll even try out a couple of activities that you can incorporate into your curriculum. 

Pam Mize- Chapel – B202                                                                          Do you need to ignite your chapel time?  May we never open the Bible and make it dull!  Come and fall in love with chapel time.

Marialyce Orr- Preschool Music 101 – A217                                             Get excited about teaching music ages Toddler through Kindergarten!  Learn to incorporate classical music, finger plays, songs and movement with a variety of themes.  Program ideas will be discussed.  Come to sing and move  like a preschooler!
